Meeting with School of Economics and Management – New direction for HR

On 1st Nov 2017, Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) in cooperation with Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) organize the Toyota Scholarships 2017 for excellent students of Automobile, Technical and Environment majors from universities nationwide. This program has been anually  implemented with the aim to encourage the learning spirit and creativity of students, as well as contribute to the human resources development the industry in particular and Vietnam society in general.

This year, Toyota Scholarship Program continues to award 115 scholarships to 115 excellent students of 16 universities nationwide with the total value of 690 million VND (each scholarship values 6 million VND). The award ceremonies are carried out in 3 areas: North (1st Nov in Vinh Phuc), Centre (14th Nov in Da Nang) and South (16th Nov in Ho Chi Minh).

Speaking at the ceremony in Vinh Phuc, Mr. Toru Kinoshita, President of TMV said: “Since the first day of establishment, with the commitment is to be “a good citizen in the local community”, TMV is always well aware its important responsibilities to contribute to sustain the development of society, especially focusing on the Education & HRD area as the most priority. We do believe that this program has encouraged the learning spirit and creativity of students”.

For students in the North area, they had chance to experience the automobile production process through the plant tour at TMV’s headquarter in Vinh Phuc. Besides, they were introduced and offered to join the Monozukuri course – “know-how to success in manufacturing and business”,  helping them to approach and have a deeper knowledge in Toyota production system (TPS) as well as the know-how of Toyota corporation, then apply effectively in their work in the future. This Monozukuri course is scheduled to be organized in January 2018. In addition, the “Career Orientation” content continued to be organized by TMV’s HR department in order to exchange, share experience and help students to have more information and career direction in the future.

Especially, this year, the program has the involvement of Toyota dealers in organizing award ceremonies at dealers. Thus, the students in the Centre and South areas could experience the showrooms, service shops as well as facilities at Toyota Da Nang (Da Nang) and Toyota Hung Vuong – Tan Tao branch (Ho Chi Minh).

Over the last 21 years, up to now, a total of 2,153 scholarships have been awarded to excellent technical and environment students nationwide with accumulated value of nearly 7 billion dong.
